Following some technical issues and delays during the spring semester, the AUCC Cross Registration System for the fall 2022 semester is now open!
Currently, students in collaborative programs (Health Science Major and Public Health Minor) are permitted to cross register, but cross registration for all approved students will open August 1,
2022.
Students may only register for a maximum of six hours via Cross-Registration and are restricted to courses not offered at Spelman College. In addition, students must have an active and current Spelman College registration.
Students who do not receive approval to Cross-Register will not have access to the Learning Management System (LMS) of the host institution: Morehouse uses BlackBoard and Clark Atlanta University uses Canvas.
Originally enacted as a manual registration process more than 20 years ago, the new automated cross-registration process will provide a modern, state of the art system for AUCC students, faculty, and administrators as Spelman continues to accelerate its digital transformation.
More information on cross registration for the fall semester is forthcoming.

Gabrielle Scales, C’2023, is spending her summer as a Penn Access Summer Scholar, studying research that could one day lead to valuable breakthroughs in the future of medical care for Black women.
"I really like working on my research," Scales said of her research examining
breast density of Black women as it relates to cancer. "I get to work with stuff that pertains to my community, and it hits especially close to home."
The Durham, North Carolina native is a participant in the Penn Access Summer Scholars (PASS) Program, which provides two summers of research (eight weeks each summer) for students enrolled at Haverford College, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, Howard University, Morehouse College, Oakwood University, Spelman College, and Xavier University.
The highly selective program is designed for students underrepresented in medicine in hopes of
preparing them to matriculate in medical school. Additional benefits include a waived MCAT requirement and a stipend paid each summer of participation. Part of University of Pennsylvania’s longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, the PASS Program is part of the Perelman School of Medicine’s broader efforts to promote and recruit a diverse, representative student body.
As a Black woman, Scales looks forward to
advocating for patients from underrepresented groups as a practicing physician who can relate to those she serves.
"There are not a lot of doctors who look like me and there could be a lot more," she said.
