Spelman College Named Fulbright HBCU Institutional Leader by the U.S. Department of State

Spelman College is proud to announce today, the College’s designation as a Fulbright Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Institutional Leader for 2023. Each year, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) recognizes the strong engagement of select HBCUs with the Fulbright Program, the U.S. government's flagship international academic exchange program.

Spelman College Ranks High Again in the 2024 U.S. News & World Best Colleges Report

Spelman College continues to rank high among the best colleges in the nation, according to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Report. The College ranked No. 39 on the list of Best National Liberal Arts institutions, up from No. 51 in 2023. For the 17th consecutive year, Spelman has earned the distinction of being the No. 1 Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the nation.

Congratulations Dr. Lisa Herring, C’94, on her appointment as strategic advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
