Spelman College has been selected to receive $1 million in grant funding and wraparound support from Google’s Cybersecurity Clinics Fund to establish the Spelman SPEAR (Security Plan, Education, Assessment and Remediation).

The funding from Google.org, the company’s philanthropic arm, is part of a $25 million collaboration with the
Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics.

Congratulations, Felicia! Felicia Deas, C'96, associate director of the Bonner Office of Civic Engagement, was recently named one of the 2024-2025 Campus Compact cohort of Engaged Scholars as part of the Engaged Scholars Initiative.

Scholars, representing 10 institutions across 10 states, were selected based on their commitment to centering equity in their civic and community engagement work.

Alumnae Highlights

Congratulations, Shalita! Spelman College alumna Shalita Myrick, C'2012, was recently named chief operating officer and vice president for administrative services at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU).

At PLU, Myrick will lead the Division of Administrative Services, which includes the business office, human resources, risk management and facilities. She will also play a critical role in the continued development of the Partnership for Health Innovation and serve as an essential collaborator on the president’s and executive councils.
