Black Girls Code at Spelman! Spelman College recently hosted a Black Girls Code summer coding camp — a unique experience that offers young black girls ages 11-17 a chance to learn how to code.
Participants spent time in the College's Innovation Lab, bonding and learning how Black women can impact the world through STEM jobs.
Congratulations, Dr. Givens! John Wagner Givens, Ph.D., associate professor of international studies at Spelman, was recently named as a 2024-2025 HBCU Faculty Fellows Academy (HFFA) participant.
Launched by PROPEL Center, an innovation technology hub for HBCUs, the HFFA is a cornerstone programmatic initiative that allows selected faculty members to facilitate learning, lead and leverage Apple technology to promote student success, and expand their professional network.
Great work, Spelmanites! Spelman College students Brooklyn Clarke, C’2025, and Ayana DeSears, C’2025, recently participated in the Georgia Tech SURE/NASA ULI program.
During the program, the students contribute their talents to Dr. Adam Steinberg’s Experimental Thermofluids Laboratory (ETFL) Group at the Ben T. Zinn Combustion Laboratory.
