A #SpelmanSummer well spent! Spelman students Alyssa Richardson, C'2026, and Camilla Augustus, C'2025, have assisted with innovative research at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania as participants in the Penn Access Summer Scholars (PASS) Program.

The PASS Program offers comprehensive enrichment experiences, including didactic sessions, research opportunities, and clinical shadowing.

NSO 2024 is here! Spelman’s faculty and staff look forward to welcoming the Class of 2028 this week during New Student Orientation (NSO) August 14 – 20, 2024.

First-year students and their families will experience a full line-up of NSO events prepared just for them, and prior to the welcome back for all returning students. Get ready, Spelmanites! The first day of classes is August 21, 2024.

Mark your calendars! From August 23 through December 7, 2024, Spelman College Museum of Fine Art presents Ming Smith: Feeling the Future the first solo exhibition of photographer Ming Smith in Atlanta and at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

This exhibition is a selection of Ming Smith's work from the 1970s to the present and presents photographs that are in conversation with each other across time and space and showcases Smith’s expansive use of lens-based media.

Great work, Alisha!
Spelman College alumna Alisha Gordon, C'2004, the founder and executive director of The Current Project, partnered with Evitarus, a public opinion research firm that is led by Black women, to secure important data related to low-to-middle-income Black single mothers, their everyday lives and the societal factors that affect them and their families this election year.
