Notable Announcements
Congratulations, Spotify Scholars! Rising Spelman sophomores Rokiyah Darbo, Taylor Mills, Ashley Rawls, Bailey Johnson and Tellisa Massey were recently announced as recipients of Spotify's NextGen Scholarship program. Each student will receive a $10,000 scholarship during their sophomore, junior and senior years. Scholars will also have the option to be Spotify ambassadors.

Welcome Back, Spelmanites!

Safety first! This past summer, Chief Moses Perdue and the Spelman College Department of Public Safety focused significant efforts toward enhancing the safety, security and awareness of the Spelman community. You can read more about their work, and other campus improvements, in the August 2023 issue of Inside Spelman.
Coming this week! Starting Friday, August 18, "Master Narrative," opens at the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art. The exhibition includes 20 paintings and a large-scale sculptural installation by the Los Angeles-based Afro-Cuban American artist Harmonia Rosales.

The August edition of "Inside Spelman" celebrates the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, welcomes the Class of 2027 and returning students and highlights who and what's new at Spelman.

Alumnae Highlights
After graduating from Spelman with plans to become a dermatologist, the Great Recession and a pretty quick rise through the ranks inspired alumna Hazel Hagins, C'2007, to pivot from healthcare to hospitality.
