Way to go, graduates! Commencement is a momentous rite of passage, and the Spelman College community joyously celebrates the hard work, sacrifice, accomplishments and promise of the Class of 2025.

The Class of 2025 is the largest graduating class in the College’s history and includes 694 degree candidates 446 Bachelor of Arts and 248 Bachelor of Science degrees. Spelman’s graduation rate remains among the highest in the country at 76%.

Alyssia Horsley, C'2025
, recently participated in The Level Up Experiment Hosted by Liz Smith a competition-style show takes HBCU students from the classroom to the board room, putting them against each other in a series of challenges.

Alumnae Highlights

Well done, Njeri! Alumna Njeri Mathis Rutledge, C'93, recently received the Roberson L. King Excellence in Education Award from the Houston Lawyers Association (HLA).

Rutledge joined the South Texas Law faculty in 2005. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English from Spelman College and earned her law degree from Harvard Law School, where she served as technical editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.
