The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) announced the 2025 awardees of the ACLS HBCU Faculty Fellowship and Grant Program, which supports exceptional research by faculty in the humanities and interpretive social sciences at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Celeste Lee, an assistant professor of sociology and anthropology, was awarded a faculty fellowship, and Ra Malika Imhotep, an assistant professor of international studies and the African Diaspora Studies Program, was awarded a faculty grant.

The Center for Black Entrepreneurship invites you to attend its Inaugural New Venture Competition tomorrow, April 23, at 5 p.m. in the Cole Living Learning Center II Auditorium.

The CBE will be awarding up to $65,000 in funding to our finalists and a few lucky audience members who are randomly selected to pitch live! Don't miss your shot to win!

Join Spelman College as we proudly honor the vibrant contributions and achievements of our LGBTQIA+ and ally graduates at this year’s Lavender Graduation Ceremony a heartfelt celebration of identity, community and accomplishment on May 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D. Academic Center Auditorium.

This special evening brings together faculty, staff, students, alumnae, graduates and the entire AUC community for a joyful and affirming celebration filled with love, recognition and pride.

Calling all Spelman students! The Color Purple, A Musical Theatre Workshop, will be held on April 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Baldwin Burroughs Theatre, Rockefeller Arts Building.

Based on Marsha Norman's book and featuring a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music and blues, "The Color Purple," is a story of hope, a testament to the healing power of love, and a celebration of life.

The workshop is free and open to the public.
