A week of beauty and bonding! Last week, Spelman College partnered with The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation to host the first-ever Black Beauty STEMinist Lab Intensive.

Led by Dr. Leyte L. Winfield, a professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Spelman and the director of the College's new Cosmetic Science Program, the multi-day program aims to inspire and equip Black women with the skills and knowledge to pursue careers in the beauty and personal care sector, spotlighting the intersection of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with beauty.

Congratulations, Jaycee! Spelman College art and visual culture professor and co-director of the Innovation Lab Jaycee Holmes, C'2016, was recently selected for the 2024 AFROTECH™ Future 50!

Holmes was selected as a Changemaker for co-founding CodeHouse, a non-profit that focuses on cultivating a strong pipeline between students of color and industry-leading tech companies.

Congratulations, Jasmine! Spelman College alumna Jasmine Geyen, C'2021, was recently named a 2024 Motion Picture Association (MPA) and the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP) Fellow.

The MPA-EICOP Entertainment Law & Policy Fellowship program is a one-year fellowship that creates opportunities in the entertainment industry for high-performing recent college, university and law graduates who are interested in supporting diversity and inclusion within the industry.
