Notable Announcements
Spelman's senior vice president of enrollment management, Ingrid Hayes, was recently interviewed by WAMU-NPR's June Leffler about how college admissions officers are preparing to comply with the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling on affirmative action and higher education admissions.

Congratulations, Dr. O'Bannon and Mr. Scott! Dr. Ronjonette O’Bannon has been selected as dean of campus wellbeing and strategic initiatives. In this role, Dr. O’Bannon will provide strategic oversight of the Wellness Center, and will develop a comprehensive, holistic and integrated services approach that focuses on the wellbeing of the College community. She was previously the director of the Spelman College Counseling Center.

Mr. Neal Scott has been promoted to director of Wellness Operations and Recreation. In this role, Scott will be responsible for providing strategic oversight for wellness curriculum programs, recreational facilities and health education. Most recently, Scott served as assistant director of campus wellness at Spelman College.

Spelman College student Chakyrah Lester, C'2025, was recently chosen for AT&T's HBCU External Affairs Internship Program.

Campus Highlights
Attention, Spelman College campus community and visitors! Construction to install underground pipes for the Center for Innovation & The Arts is now underway and may continue through Friday, July 28, 2023.

As a result, vehicular traffic entering campus from the Westview Drive Campus Gate will be reduced to one lane and one-way traffic only through the end of the month. All on-campus vehicular traffic will be directed to exit through the Greensferry Avenue Campus Gate. Large service vehicles will be directed to exit campus through the Westview Drive Campus Gate with the assistance from Spelman College Public Safety officers and construction contractors.
