It's here! The Spelman College Glee Club invites you to celebrate its 100 year anniversary and the 98th Annual Christmas Carol Concert presented with the Morehouse College Glee Club.

Spelman will host two concerts at Sisters Chapel, beginning today with "A Taste of Christmas" – a one-hour sampling of favorites from the 98th Annual Spelman & Morehouse Christmas Carol Concert – at 11:00 a.m.

On Friday, at 7:30 p.m., Morehouse College will host a Christmas Carol Concert performance in the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel.

Spelman will host a Christmas Carol Concert performance on Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. in Sisters Chapel.

On Sunday, Morehouse College will host the final Christmas Carol Concert performance at 6 p.m. in the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel.

Traditionally marking the official start of the Christmas season for Atlanta residents, these glee clubs will perform together (and individually) featuring traditional carols and contemporary-style interpretations of various holiday music. Each performance is free and open to the public.

Great work, Iesha! Spelman College Sustainability Coordinator and alumna Iesha Baldwin, C'2019, had her work with Sustainable Spelman highlighted in a recent Essence article.

The emerging environmentalist scholar believes strongly in the power and importance of sustainability efforts in Black spaces and serves as the driving force behind such efforts at her alma mater.

Congratulations, Spelmanites!
Spelman College students Chelsea Mendes and Ashley Sanders, C'2025, were both selected as AT&T Rising Future Makers.

The seniors are two of 25 winners of the 2024 Rising Future Makers Showcase, a dynamic initiative recognizing and supporting students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities who are making an impact in their communities and on their campuses.

UNCF is excited to announce its inaugural 80th Anniversary Capture the Culture Photo Contest Scholarship, open exclusively to students at UNCF-member institutions.

Three (3) winning students will be selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship, which will be paid directly to their school for the upcoming academic year. UNCF will also conduct a second round of the contest in the spring semester to select three (3) additional winners.

The contest is open to all full-time students at any of our UNCF-member institutions. Submissions must be received by December 20, 2024. Winners will be announced January 27, 2025.

Applications close soon! Applications are open for the 2025 A.T.I. Summer Leadership Training! This groundbreaking 8-week training program offers an unparalleled journey for scholars and sets a new standard for experiential learning.

Backed by the White House’s HBCU Initiative, A.T.I. is an immersive blend of professional development and hands-on experience, including a transformative week in the nation's capital, where participants will engage in the heart of American political and federal systems.

The program is open to students of all academic majors and includes a competitive stipend, housing in the Atlanta University Center (AUC), a meal plan and a fully funded trip to Washington D.C.

To apply, scholars must be a current Sophomore or Junior and maintain a GPA of 2.8 or higher.

The deadline for submission is Monday, December 16, 2024. 
Alumnae Highlights

Alumna Diona E. Layden, Esq., C'96, was recently appointed Deputy Director of the Tennessee Human Rights Commission (THRC).

As Deputy Director, Layden works closely with the Executive Director to support the THRC’s daily operations, including enforcement and administration, policy and procedure development, agency budget and staff supervision.
