Parking and Campus Access and Instructions
Please be aware of the following information and instructions to access campus during this weekend's Homecoming festivities. Friday, October 25:
- Spelman’s front gate at Westview Drive will be open to vehicular traffic until 11:30 a.m. All students, faculty and staff who are enrolled in Spelman’s parking program will have access to campus parking lots and the West Campus Parking Deck. Vehicular traffic will be required to enter and exit campus through the Beverly D. Tatum (BDT)
Suites Roadway between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Visitors will have access to the West Campus Parking Deck until 11:30 a.m. as space allows and will exit via BDT Suites Roadway. Once the West Campus Parking Deck is full, visitors will have to find surrounding area parking.
- There will be limited vendor parking on campus and limited vehicular access to Manley Roadway due to high
pedestrian traffic. The Spelman College Greensferry entrance will be used for emergency (Fire/EMS) vehicles only. Between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., the College will not allow rideshare and food drop off on campus. However, Westview Drive at West End Ave. may be an alternate point for pickup and drop offs.
Saturday, October 26:
- Between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., students, faculty and staff enrolled in Spelman’s parking program will have access to the West Campus Parking Deck. Parking will also be available at the Morehouse School of Medicine deck for a cost of $20.00. No cash will be accepted, and guests must scan and
pay via the QR code at the parking deck gate.
- Due to construction, the Greensferry entrance will open at 11 a.m. to pedestrian traffic only. All vehicles must exit via the BDT Suites Roadway and will be diverted onto Westview Drive, traveling eastbound toward Chapel Street.
- At 11:30 a.m., the intersection of Lee Street SW and Westview Drive SW will be closed to vehicular traffic
and open only for pedestrian foot traffic. The intersection of West End Avenue SW and Chapel Street will be open to essential personnel and emergency vehicles only with parking decals so they may access Spelman College via the BDT Suites Roadway.
- From 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., rideshare and food delivery will not be available on campus. Please use Westview Drive SW and West End Avenue SW as an alternate point for pickup and drop offs. Also, rideshare drivers should pick up and drop off passengers at Westview Drive and Chapel Street. Spelman College Public Safety will have two (2) officers assigned at that location for assistance.
- Secure offsite parking is available to all within the AUC community at Friendship Baptist Church (80 Walnut Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30314) at a cost of $30 per vehicle for one (1) day and $50 per vehicle for two (2) days on both Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 6p.m. Individuals who park at Friendship Baptist Church will be transported to Spelman College campus and dropped off at the BDT Suites Gate across from the Morehouse School of Medicine on Westview Drive. No onsite payments will be accepted. Pre-pay for guaranteed parking today.
Attendees should refrain from parking in the lots of nearby businesses and those in the surrounding area, as this causes an inconvenience to these establishments and their patrons. Please be sure to park in the designated areas specified in this email or to utilize alternative transportation options.
We look forward to seeing you all at this week's events, and we look forward to another great Homecoming celebration at Spelman College! Regards, Spelman College
