Six Spelman College students — Mallory Butts, C’2025; DaNae Harrison, C’2025; Kari Brown, C’2025; Taylor Branch, C’2027; Kennedy Hoyt, C’2027; and Chace Rumley, C’2027 — have been named Class of 2025 Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship recipients as part of the Fashion Scholarship Fund, the foremost fashion-oriented education and workforce development nonprofit in the U.S.

Selected from hundreds of applicants, the students will select a mentor, attend the annual FSF Awards Gala in New York City on April 7 and have access to a wide variety of internships and full-time jobs though FSF partner companies.

In honor of the 2025 Women's History Month theme, "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations," Spelman faculty, staff and students are invited to discover more about the women featured in the College's social justice mural.

Congratulations, Brittany! Growing up, Brittany Mahone, C'2025, always knew that an HBCU was the place for her.

Now, Mahone looks ahead to life after graduation and is excited to begin a full-time role as paralegal with Kostelanetz LLP in New York City, where she will gain valuable experience while preparing for law school.

Alumnae Highlights

Congratulations, Anne! Alumna Anne Collins Smith, C’96, was recently appointed chief curator at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Smith is the first Black person to lead NOMA’s curatorial department. In her role, Smith leads NOMA’s collection and exhibition initiatives and manages the institution’s team of curators, conservators and collections staff.
