On May 19, 2024, we were pleased to recognize the Class of 2024 and welcome speakers and honorary degree recipients Angela Bassett and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and National Community Service Award recipient Rose Scott during the College's 137th Commencement ceremony.
Spelman College recently hosted its 35th annual Research Day – a campus-wide celebration of the depth of our students’ intellectual curiosity, where 276 students showcased cutting-edge research projects
to a team of over 150 judges.

Congratulations, Aaniyah! Spelman student Aaniyah Jarrette, C’2026, has been named a 2024-2025 Newman Civic
Fellow.
The Newman Civic Fellowship is a yearlong program that recognizes students who stand out for their leadership potential and commitment to creating positive community change. President Gayle nominated Jarrette for her campus and community involvement, as well as her dedication to addressing housing insecurity.
Congratulations, Rosalind! The Atlanta Falcons owners recently added Spelman alumna and former Board Chair Rosalind "Roz" Brewer, C'84, as one of four new limited partners.
Brewer is joined by partners Olympic medalist Dominque Dawes, film producer Will Packer and Morehouse College alumnus Rashaun Williams.
Current Spelman College employees are eligible to receive a $300.00 referral bonus (less applicable taxes) when referring an applicant who is hired and successfully completes the 90-day probationary period.
