As you know the College has implemented a number of processes to help restrain the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community—particularly given the high transmissibility of the omicron variant.
In addition to protocols already in operation, we are implementing a PRE-ARRIVAL testing protocol. All faculty, staff, and students must register at https://getcovidsafe.com to
receive a home PCR test kit (saliva-based).You may order your test at any time. However, you should not take the test more than 5 days before you return to campus.
You will be directed to a page similar to the following:
3. Click on the REGISTER link in the bottom right-hand corner.
4. Complete and submit registration form by supplying the requested information.
5. You will be taken to a page that looks similar to the following:
6. Click on the ORDER A KIT button.
7. You will receive a notification that you have successfully ordered a kit.
8. Once your kit ships from the lab, you will get an email notice with tracking information.
Your kit will include instructions on how to collect your test sample, return it, and how to set up a Zoom telehealth appointment with a medical professional to help you properly take the test.
You may be asked for your insurance information during your telehealth appointment. You will not be charged for the test by your insurance. If you do not have insurance, you will still be able to take and return the test for free.
9. Exactly five days before you are scheduled to return to campus, follow the included instructions to take the test by collecting a sample of your saliva.
10. Use the FedEx prepaid shipping label to return your test sample on the same day you collect it by dropping it in any FedEx drop box or calling FedEx to pick it up.
11. Expect results within 24-72 hours after you FedEx your test sample.
12. After you receive your results, upload your information to the Etrieve website through your mySpelman portal.
