Spelman community,
By now, you have received a Spelman Alert notifying you of a bomb threat. I know that it is difficult to receive this news and not be unnerved by it. We ask for you to stay calm and that all residential students return to your residence hall.
All others, please shelter in place until further notice. Classes are canceled for today.
The Atlanta Police Department is currently on campus conducting a thorough sweep. I have notified the Mayor and requested additional patrols. The campus will be closed to all visitors and vendors until further notice.
Spelman's Department of Public Safety received the call at about 10 a.m. this morning and
immediately notified APD, after which the administration was notified.
Please report any suspicious packages to 404-525-6401 and please check Spelman email periodically for updates.
