Dear Spelman Community,
With great admiration and sadness, I share with you the passing of a valued member of the Spelman community – Anita R. Estell.
We honor the life and legacy of Anita, who served as the College’s lobbyist beginning in 1998. Her
proudest achievement was her profound impact on the lives of more than 235 student scholars through her involvement with Spelman on Capitol Hill.
We are grateful for her significant efforts in leveraging
her congressional relationships and teaching Spelman on Capitol Hill students civic engagement and leadership, which led many to internship opportunities and careers in the C-Suite, and as future policy makers and leaders in every level of government.
