As we prepare for Family Weekend 2024 and welcoming nearly 2,000 guests to campus, the guidance below has been compiled to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all. Please be mindful that campus tour details have been modified.

Events

Please anticipate limited parking and increased pedestrian traffic starting Friday, February 23, 2024.

While classes will be held on Friday, the events below may impact class meetings, office hours and normal building access and activities.

Parking and Campus Access and Instructions

Please adhere to the following information and instructions to access the campus during Family Weekend. Spelman College faculty and staff who are able to telework and have supervisor’s approval are encouraged to do so Friday, February 23, to provide parking spaces for visiting families.

Friday, February 23:

Spelman’s front gate at Westview Drive will be open to vehicular traffic. All students, faculty and staff who are enrolled in Spelman’s parking program will have access to campus parking lots and the West Campus Parking Deck. Guests and parents will need to park at the Morehouse College Parking Deck at a cost of $8 per vehicle before 5:00 p.m. The College is extending complementary parking to all guests and parents in the Spelman parking deck starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Additional parking will be available at the Morehouse College Parking Deck at a cost of $8.00 per vehicle.

Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25:

Students, faculty and staff enrolled in Spelman’s parking program will have access to the West Campus Parking Deck. All Family Weekend guests and parents will be allowed to park in Spelman West Campus Parking Deck at no cost through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2023.
