Spelman Community,

The Department of Music at Spelman College will host the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a mobile production studio, for a three-day residency from Monday, November 6, to Wednesday, November 8, 2023. The Lennon Buses are cutting-edge, non-profit mobile production studios equipped with the latest audio and video technology, as well as musical instruments.

Below is the schedule of events for the tour:

Monday, November 6: Bus Tour for students of Spelman's Music Department and interested students in the Division of the Arts, Bessie Strong Parking Lot

Tuesday, November 7: Production Day on the Bus, engaging music tech, songwriting, and performance students, Bessie Strong Parking Lot

Wednesday, November 8 (Open to the AUC Community & Invited Guests):

Presented by The NAMM Foundation and featuring The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. The project is made possible through a generous donation to The NAMM Foundation by Dinah Gretsch and Mrs. G’s Music Foundation.


  • 1-2 p.m.: Panel Discussion (The John Lennon Educational Bus, National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) & more), Sisters Chapel.

  • 2-3 p.m.: Network with Pros, Upton Tent: Modeled after the successful Network with the Pros events at The NAMM Show, this networking event with industry pros provides tips and advice to students considering a career in the music industry. Pros and college students can expect to meet for 60-90 minutes and will have 10-15 minutes with each group.

  • 3-6 p.m.: Bus Tour, Bessie Strong Parking Lot.
