Spelman Community,

As students and faculty prepare to return from the spring break holiday, please be mindful that our rapid testing sites on campus are open.  

To accommodate post-spring break return, we are adding two additional days of testing to include Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We ask that all community members returning from the spring break holiday get a rapid COVID-19 test.

Post-Spring Break Rapid Testing Dates/Times are below:

Location: BDT Suites Hall


Friday, March 11: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 12: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, March 13: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Testing will continue as normal the week of March 14 and for the remainder of the spring semester.

Question: What should I do if I tested positive for COVID-19 during the break?

Answer:
Students, faculty, or staff who tested positive during the holiday break should self-isolate and delay travel until you have recovered from COVID-19 and can provide a negative PCR result. For further guidance, students should contact Student Health Services at 404-270-5249. Faculty and staff should contact Yemi Brown, PharmD at ibiyemibrown@spelman.edu.

Question: What should I do if I developed symptoms consistent with COVID-19 during the break?

Answer: Students, faculty, or staff who developed symptoms consistent with COVID-19 during the holiday break should get tested with a PCR test, self-isolate, and delay travel until you can provide a negative PCR test result. For further guidance, students should contact Student Health Services at 404-270-5249. Faculty and staff should contact Yemi Brown, PharmD at ibiyemibrown@spelman.edu.

Question: What should I do if I had a known exposure to COVID-19 during the break?

Answer: Students, faculty, or staff who are fully vaccinated should quarantine for five (5) days after their last exposure and take a PCR test. Individuals not fully vaccinated should quarantine for seven (7) days after their last exposure and take a PCR test. For further guidance, students should contact Student Health Services at 404-270-5249. Faculty and staff should contact Yemi Brown, PharmD at ibiyemibrown@spelman.edu.
