Greetings Spelman community,

You're invited to participate in the second event in Spelman College's virtual series, "Courageous Conversations: Black in the C-Suite," at 1 p.m. (EST), Thursday, Nov. 19, via the Zoom platform.

Businesswoman and author Shellye Archambeau will join Spelman President Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D., to discuss her professional journey, as well as her new book, "Unapologetically Ambitious: Take Risks, Break Barriers and Create Success on Your Own Terms."

Archambeau currently serves on the boards of Verizon, Nordstrom, Roper Technologies and Okta. She has
more than 30 years of experience in technology, and served as the CEO of MetricStream, a Silicon Valley-based, governance, risk and compliance software company. During her tenure, MetricStream grew from a fledgling startup into a global market leader.

On behalf of Archambeau, all Spelman students will receive a copy of her autobiography by mail.

Published this year, the autobiography recounts how Archambeau overcame the challenges she faced as a young Black woman, wife and mother to become one of the first African American female CEOs in Silicon Valley.
