Dear Spelman Community,

We are happy to welcome you back to campus for the spring semester and want to share important updates. Please take the time to review the Spring 2023 COVID-19 Health & Safety Updates. Here are a few highlights to be mindful of:

  • The indoor masking advisory will continue through January 31, 2023. More information from the College is forthcoming.

  • The College will continue to provide free access to masks, hand sanitizers and COVID-19 self-test kits to any student, faculty or staff member. To pick up a free wellness kit distribution for your preventative care, contact the designated COVID-19 Operations Team member, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The AUCC Community COVID-19 testing for randomly selected students only will continue twice a month during the first half of the spring semester. Students who are selected to participate will receive an email notification with specific testing details.

  • Do not come to campus or attend class if you test positive or experience COVID-19 symptoms. Follow the isolation protocol and contact the designated campus medical team.

  • When a student tests positive, it is the student’s responsibility to contact Student Health Services at 404-270-5249 and follow the isolation protocol in order to receive an excused absence from class.

  • If you were exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19, follow the exposure guidance. If you have any questions regarding COVID-19 exposure, contact COVID-19 Operations at 404-270-5407.

  • The campus is open to visitors. There are no vaccination or testing requirement for visitors.

Again, please be sure to review the Spring 2023 COVID-19 Health & Safety Updates. Thank you for your continuing support as we remain fluid in managing COVID-19 on campus.

Kind Regards,

Yemi Brown, PharmD
