Good news! The AUCC Automated Cross Registration System is here!

One of the most significant benefits of being an Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC) member school is the option for students to take classes at partner institutions. Students at Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, and Morehouse College are eligible to cross-register after having gained the necessary approvals from their home campus. Historically, the cross-registration process has been a manual one that required emails, phones calls, hallway conversations and paper forms to be completed in order to register for a class on another AUCC campus.

Effective April 25, 2022, a new, automated cross-registration process will be implemented and available to a limited number of students, with general availability to follow in the fall. The automated process will use the recently upgraded Banner Student Information System to facilitate the automated cross registration process.

The new process works seamlessly with course selection and registration. Students will simply login to Banner and register for class(es) at a partner institution just as they would register for classes at their home campus. This Banner interface is the same with the only difference being the addition of available classes at partner institutions. And best of all, cross-registration will happen in near real time so students will know their registration status almost immediately.

At the end of the semester, grades will flow back to the students’ home Banner system so the integrity of the academic record will be maintained.

For faculty, the automated process will support the generation of class rosters and reports providing useful insights about the number of cross-registered students at each campus and available class space.

With the new automated cross-registration process, the Registrars and their teams will be able to spend less time manually managing cross-registration processes and more time supporting students and faculty.

The cross-registration process has been manual since its inception over 20 years ago. We are excited to provide a modern, state of the art system for AUCC students, faculty, and administrators as Spelman continues to accelerate its digital transformation.
