Greetings Spelman Community,
Given the growing concern around the spread of Covid-19, also known as the Coronavirus, Spelman College is actively reviewing its emergency response processes as they relate to the following:
- Health Response Team
- Pandemic Response Plan
- Business Continuity Plan
Information about the Coronavirus can

Additionally Sharon Davies, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and ‘Dimeji Togunde, Ph.D., vice provost for global education, are examining all upcoming study abroad trips to determine whether they should move forward.
To coordinate efforts across campuses, Morehouse School of Medicine is convening an Atlanta University Center working group.
In the meantime, please see a reminder below as it relates to taking precautions in the event of influenza, of which there have been more than 29 million cases during this flu season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Also, we suggest that members of our community consult the American College Health Association's response to Coronavirus outbreak, which provides updates and guidance.
