Spelman Community and Friends,
Below is updated information regarding today’s public viewing and tributes to Spelman alumna and Professor Emerita Christine King Farris, C’48, in Sisters Chapel.
Public Viewing
Professor Emerita Farris will lie in repose in Sisters Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., followed by special tributes from Spelman College, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Links, Inc.
Please anticipate limited parking, increased crowds and heavy pedestrian traffic prior to and during the service.
Attire
Spelman alumnae and students are asked to wear all white attire. Spelman staff and guests are asked to wear white or blue attire.
Parking and Campus Access
Spelman’s front gate at Westview Drive will now be open for vehicles to enter and exit the campus.
All students, faculty and staff who are enrolled in Spelman’s parking program will have access to campus parking lots and the West Campus Parking Deck. Visitors to Spelman College will have access to the West Campus Parking Deck as space allows.
Please be mindful that Spelman College is a private institution. No weapons are allowed on campus.
