Spelman Community,

I am pleased to announce that Spelman ranks as the No. 1 HBCU for the 18th consecutive year, according to U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to topping the list of the nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities, U.S. News & World Report has once again ranked Spelman College among the Top 40 Best National Liberal Arts institutions in the nation – rounding out the list at No. 40. The College also moved up from No. 2 to No. 1 on the list of Top Performers in Social Mobility.

While worth celebrating, the College's rankings go beyond bragging rights. Our standings speak directly to the hard work and achievements of our dynamic students, the academic acumen and instruction of our award-winning faculty, the tireless dedication of our invaluable staff and the unwavering support of alumnae, stakeholders and friends of Spelman beyond the gates. These elements make Spelman College one of a kind and continue to fuel our efforts to develop future-ready Spelman graduates.

I invite each of you to take a moment to read more about the College's rankings here and to join us in celebrating another year of recognized academic and operational excellence.

Kind regards,

President Helene Gayle
