Dear Spelman Community:

Clark Atlanta University (CAU) released a statement last evening to confirm that a CAU student was fatally wounded due to an off campus shooting in the 800 block of Beckwith Street. According to news reports, this was a targeted incident and not a random shooting. The Atlanta Police Department continues to investigate the incident.

Our sincere condolences go out to the student, his family and the CAU community.
